Angiological days 2004

INVITATION TO ANGIOLOGICAL DAYS 2004

Dear Colleagues,

When evaluating the events of the past period on the occasion of this year's 10^th Anniversary of the Czech Society of Angiology, we concluded that extraordinary developments have taken place. The number of members has increased five times, several working groups are active under the auspices of the Society, a nurses section has been created and ever increasing numbers of participants attend the specialist meetings we organise. Of these, Angiological Days has the longest-standing tradition. Documents we have confirm that the first lecture series using this title took place in 1973 and that the event we are planning for the next year will be its twenty-ninth – Angiological Days 2004. On behalf of the Committee of the Czech Society of Angiology, I warmly invite you to this annual conference.

We have once again chosen the hotel Olympik in the Karlín district of Prague as the venue. During the floods of 2002, Karlín was one of the most devastated areas of Prague and in the lobby of the hotel Olympik there is a mark to show the height of the waters at that time. During Angiological Days 2003, we were amazed at how quickly the hotel Olympik had been restored to absolutely perfect condition. Regarding our forthcoming meeting in 2004, we should be able to notice that other parts of Karlín have in the meantime also undergone renovation and that this city district is once again fully back to normal.

Dear friends, I believe that Angiological Days in 2004 will prove to be, in all respects, of benefit to our continuing work, enabling us to further our knowledge within this field. I also believe that it will help us to forge good relations amongst ourselves, as well as bringing closer societies that deal with many different aspects of angiological issues. The programme for this conference will provide opportunities for sharing knowledge between internists, cardiologists, radiologists, surgeons, dermatologists, diabetologists, haematologists and other professions, as well as providing an environment in which work can be presented and discussed in a broad-ranging manner.
